Lovin Hawaii & missin Guam!

Sharks, sharks and more sharks. Nate, Drew and Scott promptly made it to North Shore Shark Adventures on Hawaii's North Shore. The sharks went crazy over the fish pieces being thrown into the water, 3 miles off-shore, mind you. Drew said, "I was so scared seeing the shark fins that I almost cried before I had to get into the cage!" It was an excellent adventure to say the least.
Here is Lily with one of her favorite foods...crab legs, thanks Mima! Red Lobster was great, but Lily was more interested in moving her food.
Here we all are at the famous Matsumoto's Grocery Store for the shave ice. It was excellent with ice cream inside and covered with sweetened condensed milk. Lily kept track of whose turn it was, Mommy, Daddy, Lily, Mommy, Daddy, Lily, Mommy, Lily, Lily, Lily!
Mom and Dad surprised their grandkids by flying out to Honolulu a few days early. The boys and Lily were definitely surprised by them at the airport. Everyone got a Lei upon arrival; thanks Mom and Dad.
We already miss our friends in Guam and the laid back lifestyle. We are excited about the adventure ahead, but nervous about finding a home and new van. We are sure everything will be fine as we have prayed a ton. Thanks to Guam for such a great sendoff. We miss you all so much.

We are OUT!

Well we have checked out of the house and living at the Pacific Island Club downtown. We no longer have a phone and life is crazy. I check out of the base tomorrow morning and then I can truly say that we are on vacation!! We can't wait to see all of the people that we have on our schedule. We are all excited about the big changes ahead. To all of our Guam friends, please keep in touch. Look out for Jean and I joining the facebook revolution. We have finally agreed that it is time and that resistance is futile!
Take care and look out U.S. here come the O's.

48 Hours

That's right....48 hours until we are officially "homeless" and moved into the hotel. We are granting the boys' wishes and staying at the PIC in downtown Tumon until we fly out next Monday morning. Scott and I would rather stay at the Westin and sleep in the Heavenly Bed but...we are the BEST PARENTS IN THE WORLD and don't forget it Nate and Drew!

Lily is ready to go....crocs on the wrong feet, bag in hand, and hat on.  C'mon Mom!  Let's go!!!

Everyone is happy on another sunny Guam day!

We are planning to update the blog while we travel. We will be in Hawaii for a week and then off to Washington DC the first week of July. Pray for us while we are traveling and once we arrive in DC. We have one week set aside to buy a van and find the perfect home before we take a road trip back to Ohio to visit family and friends.

Now....time to get packing those suitcases!

What a ride it has been!

As we are getting ready to leave Guam all I can say is that it has been great! I want to thank everyone that helped us make Guam our home over the last 3 years. Today is the 3 year anniversary of our arrival on Guam. I just thought I would author a post showing what we all looked like 3 years ago. Guam, thanks for the memories and another chapter in our life. When we arrived in June 2006 we were a family of 4, the boys were just that...boys, and I was just a young Captain in the AF. We are now a family of 5, the boys are young men, and I am a young Major in the AF. Jean hasn't aged a day and looks better every morning! We will honestly miss this beautiful place in the sun! Look out DC here we come.
