Summer Palace

The Bird's Nest!  Site for many of the upcoming Olympic events. (Don't forget you can click on each of the photos for an enlarged view.)  Scott was impressed with how well his new camera worked at 55mph.

Jean and the boys nearing the end of the tour.

We are in the gardens with one of the elephants covered in flowers.  The elephant symbolizes happiness in the Chinese culture.  We stopped to take this picture while walking the Long Corridor~2,277 feet long.  Every beam is painted with original artwork~8,000 miniature works of art in all.

Scott and the boys just inside the entrance to the Summer Palace.  The buildings were beautifully painted.
The photos are out of order but the internet is slow and we haven't purchased a power adapter so our battery is slowly draining.  Today was a great day thanks to our guide, Vicki.  Tomorrow we will tour the Temple of Heaven; take the Hutong tour, and watch the Acrobat Show.

Just to clear Drew's name; he didn't get sick on the plane, just Nate.

Two Goobs have landed in Beijing!

Here they are the goob balls of the year. We had a fairly rough flight into Beijing last night and the boys both got sick on the plane. Other than that we did have a good time at Narita, they finally felt bad and let Jean and Drew into the President's Club. When we arrived in Beijing we found the airport fairly empty and it was perfectly clean. Our guide, Jessie, met us and we were off to the hotel. We are staying at the Radisson SAS in Beijing and just getting ready to go get breakfast. The hotel is very nice and we are happy to have a good nights sleep under our belt. We are going on a half day (not hafadai for those Guamanians out there) tour of the Summer Palace and we are pretty excited about it! We will update with new photos, hopefully tonight.

More Good News...pray it continues!

We received even better news this past week regarding our baby. Our agency notified us that the China Center of Adoption Affairs (CCAA) has approved our care plan and moved our application further along in the process. We've met with our social worker who is currently writing our home study addendum. The baby is currently 14 1/2 months old and is living with foster family. We hope to be traveling to get her sometime this summer, hopefully before the Olympics kick off in Beijing. March 21st marks our 1 year anniversary of our start of the adoption paper chase. It really is hard to believe it has really been a year already. We are all excited and can't wait to get the referral for her, which will mean pictures that we can post. Please continue to pray for the babies health and that the Lord will remove barriers and provide financially for this adoption.
We miss you all from the beautiful island of Guam!
