4 Nights

Four nights left in our own beds before we leave for Beijing! (Actually, Nate only has 3 since he is camping out with the Boy Scouts tonight.)

The photo is of Scott's hand next to the popular Taro plant, aka "Elephant Ear". As a side note, we had several of these plants growing near our house but in the last couple of months the wild pigs on the island have come through our yard and dug most of them out. The pigs love the roots of the plant, I am told.

If it's not one thing, it's another......This morning Scott woke me up @ 7am to tell me that our agency emailed us overnight. The email stated that our fingerprints are not where they are supposed to be~China! We had an issue come up about a month ago where we had to go down to the local CIS office and have an amended I-797C form completed because our original did not state when our fingerprints expired. Our local CIS office wired the visa 37 form (fingerprints) to the National Visa Processing Center and they were received June 23. We thought we were good to go. Apparently NOT! Now I have to run down to the local CIS office early Monday morning to catch them while they are still open and have our paperwork/fingerprints re-cabled, this time directly to the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou, China. I believe God is on our side~we recently found out one of our neighbors works at the local CIS office. Scott happened to speak to him this morning about our problem and he said he will personally take care of the situation on Tuesday morning if I am not able to resolve this problem on Monday. Talk about cutting it close!
